Welcome

Hi, I’m Michelle! I started Three Six Five Closet as a platform to share data-driven insights on my closet. I’ve been collecting data about my daily outfits and changes to my wardrobe since December 2017.

I was first introduced to the concept of a capsule wardrobe during the summer of 2017, when I was recovering from a knee surgery and about to start a new corporate job in NYC. I was stressed about having “nothing to wear” despite having a closet filled to the brim with clothes I didn’t really like. (My inability to put pants over my knee brace didn’t help either.)

Learning about capsule wardrobes led me to topics that I’d never heard of at the time, like sustainable fashion and greenwashing. I made a commitment then and there to stop shopping at fast fashion retailers and to start practicing slow fashion.

Over the last few years, my closet intentions have evolved. For example, I no longer aspire to have a capsule wardrobe made up of only thirty items. Other intentions have stayed constant, namely, to consciously and sustainably curate a closet full of clothes I love to wear and rewear.
